    Description

    I am offering for sale a rare 19th Century hand painted miniature portrait depicting British General Rowland Hill, who served during the Peninsular Campaign and commanded the II Corps at the Battle of Waterloo under the Duke of Wellington.  It is signed by the artist, Peter Copee.  The detail is very fine and the colors are vivid.  The frame is bronze with a brown marbled inset.  The portrait measures 3 1/8" x 2 3/8".  The frame measures 5 1/8" x 4 1/4" not including the wreath at the top.
