Rare 1950s US Army Armor Branch Yellow Enlisted Collar Brass Backing

Description

Rare and original brass backing for the enlisted man's collar insignia, with yellow Armor branch border. These were an experimental item (post Korean war) that were considered but never officially adopted by the US Army, incorporating the branch of service colors as a background color for collar insignia, which had been done by some units during the First World War. This auction is for one (1) backing plate, die struck from brass, with baked enamel yellow border. Designed to accept almost any style of collar badge, including the screw back, pin back, and any clutch back.
