044c  #4 This is a real Iridescent Wing Dragonfly Odonates species.  The pictures do not show his beauty well.  These are nicely Displayed in a Floating Frame to keep him clean and safe for years to come.  His iridescent colors are beautiful blues and he is just stunning.  These are natural specimens and due the fagility of them some will be missing some legs, this in no way takes away from the specimen and they are not returnable for that reason.   This display would look great in any collection!

This is nicely showcased in a shadowbox type frame that suspends him in a clear elasticity film so both sides may be viewed unobstructed and also gives the specimen the illusion of "floating"!   This can be opened but I advise against it as the specimens or the elasticity strip usually are damaged when you open the display.  If the film in your display starts to stick together or gets some bubbles in it you can open the case very slowly so the film releases from both side and close again very slowly and the problem should be resolved.  If the film gets touched or is in a hot area this can happen but it is a very easy fix.  Once the display has been opened returns are no longer accepted.
HANGING DISPLAYS:  The floating displays all have removable bases so if you would like,  just a piece or two of Velcro or command strip will mount these right to your wall without a problem. The case will keep him clean and safe for years to come!
species- Neurobasis kaupi - - Electric Blue Wing Damselfly Dragonfly - Male
The reproductive behaviour of Neurobasis kaupi was studied for the first time in Central and South Sulawesi. The species was recorded in a wide variety of clear and fast flowing creeks, streams and rivers, mostly in forested areas. The males were territorial and defended potential oviposition sites, a limited resource. Territory owners demonstrated their presence by brief synchronized flashings of their hindwings as well as by regular inspection flights. Intruders were first driven off by short chasing flights. Longer lasting conflicts led to three different types of threatening flights, depending on the number of males involved and the level of excitation. As in other Calopterygidae males of N. kaupi led receptive females to potential oviposition sites. In courtship flight the male presented the upper sides of his stationary, depressed, quivering hindwings, with the hind margins broadly touching the water surface. Oviposition substrates were mostly submerged floating root mats or plants, optimally floating loosely at a depth of 5-15 cm below the water surface. The general patterns of behaviour of N. kaupi correspond to the known behaviour of other Neurobasis species. However, within this general framework there are clear differences between this species and others, especially N. chinensis.
