    Description

In very good condition. This is a Top-Quality CD of 659 train order and related images from the Grand Trunk Western Railroad. This CD covers the entire GTW system until it was merged out of existence in the 1990s.
Included are 2 station lists showing each location and the number of images included from that location.
Also included are 38 employee timetable pages that cover all of this territory, so you can see where each location was, with respect to the others. This was a very strategic Railroad, and a lot of it was train-order territory.
32 of the employee timetable pages represent the complete system timetable No. 8, dated October 30, 1966. The other 6 pages are from subsequent timetables, where the GTW took over the DT&I and the D&TSL Railroads. Since this is a system CD, I felt inclined to include all timetable pages pertinent to these train order images.
The GTW absorbed the Detroit, Toledo & Ironton Railroad in 1983, and also the Detroit & Toledo Shore Line Railroad. Therefore, there are 6 ETT pages of these former roads' trackage included. as stated above. There is a good sampling included of these ex-DT&I and ex-D&TSL locations, which were not on the "original" GTW. All of these are newer orders, which didn't last too long till train orders were eliminated completely, on all Railroads in America and Canada. I would venture to state that the orders from 1988 are among the last ones ever issued on the GTW Railroad.
There are 90 different Grand Trunk Western train order locations represented here, with at least one train order image from each location. Ages of the orders range from 1914 to 1988. Where decent-sized sets were available, I included clearance cards and messages issued to the crews along with their orders. A couple of these sets have an employee timetable page included, showing the territory covered during that particular trip.
The 12 pictures shown are just a sampling of the quantity and variety of locations, information, and operations unique to this long-gone Railroad.A concerted effort has been made, to give the best (some enhanced) images possible. There is a grand total of 699 images included.
The train orders in this CD show many engine numbers, operators' names, track conditions, operating procedures, and all kinds of meets and flag orders, all consistent with train-order operation. This is some of the best Railroad reading anywhere. Please review my other 90-plus train order CD's and be confident you are getting equally top-quality items, from many other Railroads.
Very nice items that are obsolete and no longer used by any Railroad.
