Description
This is a British 24th Foot Regimental Museum lot that is in very good condition. It consists of:A Zulu War period reproduction 24th Foot Helmet plate cast in pot metal with brass finish to the front and unfinished reverse,
A reproduction 24th Foot enlisted belt buckle cast in pot metal with brass finish to front and unfinished reverse. The left belt loop is broken but can easily be repaired.
There is a pair of reproduction silver colored metal XXIV within a wreath collar insignia with loop and split pin on the reverse,
A 3½ x 5-inch glossy photo of the Alphonse de Neuville’s painting of the Defense of Rorke’s Drift,
A 4x6 inch photo postcard of C.E. Fripp’s Battle of Isandlwana,
A 4x6 inch photo museum postcard of a Zulu War period British 24th Foot soldier and a Zulu Warrior of the Zulu inGobamakhosi Regiment,
Two fliers from the Isandlwana Lodge,
Two Dundee South Africa Fliers.
All the paper is in excellent undamaged condition. This lot will be sent in the original South Wales Borderers Museum plastic bag in which they were purchased. These items would make a fine framed display.
