Bates Hand Made Felts Established 1888 Vintage Cardboard Hat Box & Form - Circa 1953 - AS IS
Label says, "Bates - Established 1888 - Hand Made Felts" - There is some handwriting on the bottom of the label - It denotes that the style of the hat was "S2-2," the size of the hat ranged from 6 5/8"-7" and the color was "Pinetone" - Tan/Beige exterior with Black & Red Lettering - Includes box base, lid, and hat form
14 1/2" Long x 12 1/4" Wide x 7" Tall
Used - AS IS CONDITION
The lid is separated approximately 14" along the seam where the top piece meets the edge - This has resulted in some distortion in the shape of the lid - Numerous spots surface wear/scuffing and peeling,  where the paper covering on the lid has come unglued and is either chipping or has broken off and gone missing - Numerous pieces of paper are coming unglued, but still remain attached to the cardboard structure - Numerous small discoloration spots along with browning and foxing from age - Some large spots of brown discoloration along the one edge - Some handwriting on the lid in pencil that says "New Straw 8/1/53"
The base is separated approximately 19" along the seam where the side of the base meets the bottom edge - Some small discoloration spots, scratches, scuffs, crimps, a few light bends, and some small spots of chipping to the paper surface covering
The label is in good condition - There are two small margin tears along the top edge, and some handwriting along the bottom in black pencil - Otherwise, no chipping or label loss
The hat form is in excellent condition - It is structurally sound with no tears or bends - A few light crimps and tiny discoloration spots
Some scratches and scuffs from age and handling
