Antique Hat Box with Hardware and Key

We are happy to offer up for bidding an antique hat box from days gone by.
The exterior of the hat box displays leather strapping and studs on the corners.
The perimeter on the interior top rim of the hat box is a metal reinforcement.
There is a brass lock mechanism with the original key and this is operational.
The interior of the hat box displays a black satin fabric on the inner lid and in the hat storage area.
You will note that the horseshoe mold for the hat is still in place after all these years.
We have a sturdy leather handle which shows some wear mainly to the finish of the leather only.
There are a couple of cosmetic splits in the leather, however, this is minor and an acceptable badge of maturity for such a piece of luggage.
There is no indication of a maker on this piece, however, we can say it is very well constructed and is in still phenomenal condition for its age.
This piece was well loved and used in its lifetime and only if our antiques could speak, we would be that much wiser would we not?
