    Description

    The Chicago, Indianapolis & Louisville Railway, better known as the Monon Railroad, was a mid-west carrier with routes in Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky. Nicknamed "The Hoosier Line", its main route trended through the three cities in its name. The Monon was acquired by the Louisville & Nashville Railroad in 1971; its surviving trackage today is primarily owned and operated by CSX Transportation. For auction is a LOT of two cancelled debit checks from the Monon, dated May 25, 1960 and June 24, 1960. They were for interline railroad charges and were payable by the Pittsburgh & West Virginia Railroad.

    The checks measure appx 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches and is printed on typical mid-grade check bond paper. They does not scan true to color and are a light pink shade. These checks are is in
