  • Condition: Excellent condition with original ribbon and box. Medal has 2 minor rim dings and minor wear marks. Original ribbon is complete with a couple minor thread pulls. Hallmarked with the Italian Royal mint hallmark (Z under Crown) on the reverse, and signed E Giorgi to the bottom left of the bust. Original box is complete, but has had tape applied to the seams and shows minor storage wear. Please see photos for more details

    1911-1912 Italian-Turkish War SILVER Campaign Service Medal w Orig & Box
    This Medal was founded by King Victor Emmanuel III to reward all colonial and Italian military personnel and civilians that had rendered service during the Italo-Turkish War against the Ottoman Empire from 1911-1912.
    To be eligible for the Medal, the individual had to have participated in combat and operations against the Ottoman forces between September 29, 1911, and October 19, 1912.
    (Medaglia commemorativa dell guerra Italo-Turca). Instituted 21 November 1912 by Vittorio Emanuele III of Savoy. Circular medal in silver, observe bears the right facing head portrait of Vittorio Emanuele III and “VITTORIO EMANVELE III RE D’ITALIA” (VITTORIO EMANVELE III KING OF ITALY) with the maker mark “L. GIORGI” stamped into the obverse under portrait, the reverse bears “GUERRA ITALO-TURCA 1911-12” (ITALIAN-TURKISH WAR 1911-12) encompassed by a laurel wreath tied with ribbon,, measuring 32 mm (w) x 35.84 mm (h), on a ribbon with six blue and five red stripes of equal width.  Rare official version made by the Royal Italian Mint with the  "Z Crown" hallmark
